NCAJ is offering its members a free 1.0 hour CLE – The Impact of COVID on Mental Health and Well-Being – with Candace Hoffman, Field Coordinator with the North Carolina State Bar Lawyer Assistance Program on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 12:00 pm.   COVID-19 placed unprecedented demands and challenges on everyone and in a variety of ways. This program focuses on the impact it has specifically had on the mental health and well-being of lawyers. Common reactions are discussed and explained, with strategies given to help put these reactions into perspective. Various tools, coping methods, suggestions, and guidelines are provided to assist in managing the impact on lawyers’ health and well-being and boosting their emotional resiliency.

Candace Hoffman

Candace Hoffman is a licensed North Carolina lawyer and recovery enthusiast.  Candace comes to LAP from the Department of Justice, where she worked in health care, representing the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Her work exposed her to the challenges and complexities of the mental health and substance abuse treatment fields. Before taking this position as LAP Field Coordinator, Candace was a LAP volunteer for six years.  Candace lives in Raleigh with her husband, two daughters and two beagles.
